In 2015 a decision was made, one that would change the course of two people’s lives forever! What was this decision, you may ask? It was the decision to enroll in sociology class for the winter 2015 semester. Little did we know that we would get more than education. We were the first two people to show up to class early on that February afternoon and after meeting we decided to sit near each other. Through multiple group projects and class discussions we became best friends. Fast forward to July 4th, our first date, and you could say it went well, because we have been together ever since!

On our 3-year dating anniversary, Nick orchestrated a vacation to Disney World on New Years Eve followed by a 5-day visit to Universal Studios in sunny Orlando Florida as a gift. This would be our first vacation together as a couple. In the months leading up to the trip Nick was determined to get a reservation at a restaurant called Be Our Guest. The restaurant is themed after one of my favorite movies Beauty and the Beast. Nick struggled to get a reservation for months constantly checking without success. As fate would have it, the week before the trip I was battling with a stubborn restless cold. In a moment of restlessness, I returned to the Disney app. To my surprise a reservation was open! I rushed to book it, but by the time I finished creating an account, the reservation was gone. Hours later, I woke up again and logged into the app to find two reservations available! This time I was ready and GOT THE RESERVATION!!! The hardest part was waiting until morning to tell Nick. I never could have anticipated how important this reservation would become to Nick's plans.

Finally, it was New Years Eve, and we spent the entire day in the magical world of Disney. The day flew by and soon it was time for our reservation at 4pm. Stepping into the grandeur of Be Our Guest, we got to enjoy its last few quite moments before the main dinner crowds came in. Eager to capture the magic, I urged Nick to pose with me before the stunning stained-glass window pictured above before it got too busy. A nearby server was happy to take our picture and after we finished our pose, NICK PROPOSED!! Overwhelmed with joy, I said YES, and we shared a warm embrace!!! Nick revealed later that he had carried the ring with him all day, waiting for the perfect moment to propose. Though his original plan had been to propose in front of Cinderella's castle, destiny led us to a more intimate and beautiful setting away from the crowds - one that will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
